This essay looks in to the logistics operational significance during the Korean war,1950-1953. The purpose is to give an orientation about how the logistical functioninfluenced the events during the Korean war. Aiming on the investigation anddescription of the logistical organisation and it?s consistency on operations. To achievethe purpose the author searched the answer to two main questions during the analyse ofthe different texts.

The aim of this paper is two-fold. Firstly, it is the production of a historical and chronological narrative describing the development of the Swedish Red Cross Hospital in Pusan during the years 1950-58. Secondly, it is the investigation of the objectives and aspirations of the organisations and institutions involved and how they affected how the hospital developed during the wartime years and up until the inauguration of the Scandinavian educational hospital, the National Medical Centre, in Seoul. Shortly after the outbreak of the Korean War in 1950 Sweden, a neutral nation, offered to send a contingent for the establishment of a 200 bed mobile field hospital which was to be subjected to the command of the Eighth US Army in Korea. In the end a larger semimobile evacuation hospital was set up in Pusan where both UN soldiers and PoWs were treated, and it came to be known as the Swedish Red Cross Hospital. The decrease in and finally the cessation of hostilities in 1953 opened up for treatment of Korean civilian patients and such work was conducted not only at the Swedish hospital but all over Pusan, though initially it was not formally sanctioned by American and UN authorities.

I detta arbetet har jag analyserat tio bilderböcker som är utgivna på 1950-talet och tio böcker som är utgivna i början på 2000-talet. Jag har i min analys använt mig av en metod som bygger på att jag använt mig av ett abstrakt schema. Detta schema delar upp könsstereotypa drag beroende på om det ses som maskulint eller feminint. Jag har också läst forskning som bedrivits inom några närliggande områden, läseböcker, reklam, feministiska sagor och bilderböcker. Jag har studerat på hur kön konstrueras i bilderböcker från 1950-talet respektive 2000-talet.

The purpose of this Masters thesis is to examine the growth of the library in Vaggeryd. We have analysed how four factors influenced the library development during the years between 1862 and 1953. The four factors we have studied are development of society, collective actors, librarys economy and individual actors. The aim of this study was to describe how girls and boys have been represented in the Swedish children?s? magazine Kamratposten from 1950 until 2010. Kamratposten was chosen because it has both boys and girls as target audience. Three articles about children from the years 1950, 1960, 1970, 1980, 1990, 2000 and 2010 were chosen as material of the study.The study is a discourse analysis that deconstruct the gender discourse of Kamratposten. The analysis is done with a gender perspective.

Uppsatsen bearbetar kalla kriget i både världen, Sverige och Norrbotten samt den svenska regeringens utrikespolitik under efterkrigstiden. I studien nämns vidare vilken roll Luleälvdalslinjen samt Victoriafortet hade i den svenska försvarsplaneringen. I uppsatsen presenteras bland annat inledningen på det kalla kriget som skedde i och med toppmötet på Jalta, samt USA:s lansering av Trumandoktrinen och Marshallplanen år 1947, Koreakriget år 1950, Suezkrisen 1956, Kubakrisen 1959 och Vietnamkriget 1959-75, intriger som är en central del av kalla krigets historia. En övervägande orsak till vårt ämnesval var att vi ville undersöka varför den internationella spänningen mellan öst och väst kunde pågå under så pass lång tid såsom 46 år, intressant var dessutom att fördjupa sig i hur de globala oroligheterna påverkade resten av världen, Sverige och norrbotten. I uppsatsen undersöker vi även den svenska regeringens agerande under kalla krigets tid (år 1945-1991), då vi anser att detta är av vikt för att få en inblick i de känsliga politiska förhållanden som rådde i både Sverige och världen under denna tidsperiod.

Syftet med den här undersökningen var att få en inblick i hur fyra personer som är födda på 1950-talet funderar över framtiden som pensionär. Min rubrik ?Vem tar hand om 50-talisten?? är en fundering över hur det kan komma att bli för 50-talisten som pensionär. Det är ett nytt pensionssystem som har trätt i kraft och de flesta som är födda på 1950-talet kommer att få sin pension utifrån det. Samhällsutvecklingen förändras och inom socialförsäkringssystemet görs stora ekonomiska omfördelningar och besparingar.

Swedish consumption habits led to a discourse on consumption needs of the general public during the first half of the 20th century, involving primarily several institutions, but also a variety of popular movement organizations, among which we find Kooperativa Förbundet. In this discourse, ascetic consumption and a rationalized outlook on consumption were idealized, as the Swedes needed to be economical not to live beyond their means. The objective of this study is to investigate the ideals this type of discourse conveys throughout the latter half of the 20th century. This will be achieved by investigating selected editions of the cookbook ?Vår Kokbok? published by Kooperativa Förbundet.

This thesis examines how the United States of America justified their cooperation with the Iranian Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi during the period of 1953-1979, until he was overthrown by his own people. This case-study doesn´t make general conclusions about the US foreign policy towards other countries except Iran.The theoretical starting point for the empirical analysis is the political dilemma of dirty hands. With the analytical instrument, constructed with a normative analysis about the concept of dirty hands, it´s possible to discover which ethical discipline the American presidents had to uphold to justify their actions.There are three different aspects of their cooperation which are lifted in this thesis. The first one is about the circumstances that made them begin their cooperation, the second regards the features of the cooperation.
